Common Recovery: Every Friday evening 7-8:30pm
Common Recovery is a safe and loving place for those seeking to find support and freedom from our hurts, habits and hangups in life. We come together to be honest in the struggle while also leaning into God’s love and community for healing and recovery. Together through the 12 steps, Scripture and support from each other we will live our lives with purpose and hope because our lives matter to God and He has GOOD plans for us.
Step Study (closed): Monday evenings 6:30-8pm
We are offering our first step study for those who want to dig deeper in their recovery. It is a 6-8month commitment. This is a closed group due to the nature of the things discussed and development of trust for the recovery process.
We provide counseling to those who are struggling with and in recovery from addictions and chronic mental health. We utilize Trauma Informed Care, Dialectical Behavior Techniques, Christian Spirituality and Recovery Principals to help you heal and become whole.
To talk to someone about counseling, please call us @ (904)321-9024 or email Abigail at Abigail@thecommonspace.net
There is no cost for the things we do here at The Common Space. We seek to be a safe space that removes barriers to the quality of life God has for us. Donations are always welcome as you participate in the activities here at The Common Space and you find yourself at home here in our community. We seek to provide support for hope and healing to meet you where you are and we invite you to give as you are able to.
Abigail is a licensed mental health counselor for the state of Florida. She is a longtime resident of Fernandina Beach. She graduated from FBHS in 1995 and went on to study Christian Social Ministries at Palm Beach Atlantic University. Before going away to graduate school, she spent time working for several nonprofits in the community, mainly focusing on counseling teens. She moved to Lexington, KY in 2007 to attend Asbury Theological Seminary where she graduated with her Masters in Counseling. After graduation, she spent time as the Director of Outreach Services at the Lexington Rescue Mission working with people struggling with poverty. It was at the Rescue Mission that she realized the deep need people have for loving relationships and seeing that one of the greatest sorrows that people carry is the deep sense of loneliness. And her desire to help others heal in community began to grow. She came back to Fernandina in late 2014 and worked for Florida Psychological Associates as a therapist for two years. She has a deep love for helping others to live fully embracing their joy and struggle together in the journey of life. She has experience working with individuals dealing with loss, trauma, depression, anxiety, addictions and chronic mental health concerns. She would love to meet with you and walk on the journey towards healing and hope.
